Tropical Forest have found a small scale beekeeper who produces this subtle honey in the far south of Italy near to Pagliano, known as the City of Clementines. This is an area of traditional family orchards of clementines, oranges and almonds providing forage and shade for bees in the spring. Tropical Forest select honeys from areas of environmental importance, sourcing powerfully flavoured unusual honeys, direct from small scale beekeepers. Honey is blended in the hive from tiny loads of nectar brought back by foraging bees from the flowers in the surrounding landscape. Every kind of flower has an individual nectar, giving each honey a unique flavour, true to its specific origin. Tropical Forest work with village beekeepers in the tropics to increase their income and small scale producers in Europe.
