From mixed farmland along the rivers Severn and Perry in Shropshire where the rich sandy loam gives a variety of good bee forage: lime trees in ancient parkland, wild flowers from water meadows and clover on organic farms. The hives overwinter here before moving to the Welsh mountains for the heather crop in August. Tropical Forest select honeys from areas of environmental importance, sourcing powerfully flavoured unusual honeys, direct from small scale beekeepers. Honey is blended in the hive from tiny loads of nectar brought back by foraging bees from the flowers in the surrounding landscape. Every kind of flower has an individual nectar, giving each honey a unique flavour, true to its specific origin. Tropical Forest work with village beekeepers in the tropics to increase their income and small scale producers in Europe.
