Egyptian cotton to cotton is like "French grapes" are to wines. There are many credible good wines across the world but French grapes are respected for their perfect growing conditions. Similarly, the perfect growing conditions in Egypt combining the right sun, water and soil produce the longest and best quality cotton fibres in the world.

Combing cotton produces a much finer quality cotton compared to carded cotton. Combing also eliminates some of the poorer quality cotton fibres that remain by just carding.
